The video work is based on the observation of a visually inclusive relationship between artificial landscape (tunnel/bridge) and nature landscape (mountain/river). It was simultaneously projected on three walls to visualize a heterogeneity of time and space.
My hometown, Chongqing, is a place surrounded by mountains and rivers as well as modern urban construction. My grow-up memories are filled with images of driving on bridges and in tunnels, and the flowing scene in the car forged a vague feeling of spatial heterogeneity in the young mind.
Foucault’s theory of "negative space" and “heterotopia" unfolded the existence of exotic space folding time and space, such as movie theaters, cemeteries, and museums, for these spaces abandoned linear time, possessing eternity through time juxtaposition.
